Carol Otis Hurst's KeynotingAlthough the subject of the address varies according to the focus of the organization, Carol's keynote addresses have been the delight of educational conventions all over the country. Her background as a teacher, school librarian, columnist and author of many books for educators makes her credibility unassailable. Often she brings audiences into the storytelling experience right away often beginning the talk with a story. Sometimes, after the story, Carol points out the various reactions to the experience that she saw in the audience, including the moment when most of the audience was captured by the story. Carol talks about the lack of oral communication in our homes and classrooms in our increasingly technology-filled world. A keynote address by Carol Otis Hurst is an emotional and unforgettable experience that inspires her listeners to reach out to children through literature. |
