Here Come the Babies
ReviewLike their earlier Kids (Candlewick, 1992 ISBN 1 56402 097 5), this book explodes with exuberance and the joy of words and babies. Not that it's overly positive ; I particularly like: "Babies kick and babies crawl, Slide their potties down the hall. Babies smile and babies yell, This one has a funny smell". The rhyming text is chantable, laughable and maybe even singable as it explores babies in all their glory and misery. This is an ideal book for a sibling blessed or cursed with a new arrival. Be sure you also give them Julius the Baby of the World by Henkes, Kevin (Greenwillow, 1990 ISBN 0-688-08943-7) for balance, more story and more laughter.
